I have tested here and can say that battery drain seems to be less in connected standby than before.

And this maintenance is only working when plugged and you aren't doing anything for some minutes. When you move something like the cursur it stops and will start again when you haven'T done anything for some minutes

When it happens again, please have a look if this icon in the task bar near the clock has a clock, too on the flag I think it is the maintenance of windows 8 running in the background. It is only working when plugged in, not in battery mode. Daily. Sometimes more, sometimes less.

After the firmware update today i've made again an enery report with administrator privileges powercfg -energy -output %USERPROFILE%\Desktop\Energy_Report.html I have NO problem listed there now. Before i always had at least one (CPU or explorer.exe) listed, but SP3 was working well anyway...

I am really interested if we will see some battery changes next days in battery report ..

wow, System update took a long time here. Had the screen with "System update is being installed" for 5 minutes. Then fan suddenly really loud and sp3 shut down. Made sp3 on again, another update. It restarted itself again. Now all is installed sucessful. so dont get nervous ;)

Yes, there are a lot of people here who had these problems and a refresh did help. It sounded curious to me too but it helped, too. Try it and report back.

I am losing about 1%-2% in 1 hour of connected standby. Sometimes it is more cause CPU stays active as i can see in sleepstudy report but thats 1 out of 20 or so. I am sure MS will fix some problems with connected standby. In my opinion there should be a option which disables wireless LAN...

It is explorer.exe. I have that sometimes too ( 1 out of about 30 starts). You can see the error in the reliability index (using charm bar, search "reliability"

Think i cant really help but i had this exactly some time ago on a notebook. I had it attachached to an external display. After i didn't it attach anymore to an external display it worked.
