8.1 Miracast support test with Netgear Push2TV

just to be clear, miracast is different from widi right? Coz from the threads I've been reading widi is not supported since the wireless adapter is not an intel chipset.

8.1 and row tiles issue, only in SP or 8.1 in general?

actually the resolution hasn't been changed, it's still at 1920x1080. The Show More Tiles option brings the tile row from 3 to 4 rows. Then if you go to Display settings, more settings (where it says "Change the size of apps on the displays that can support it") and change it from Default to...

8.1 and row tiles issue, only in SP or 8.1 in general?

hmm.... so you have 6 rows and it doesn't revert to 4 after the SP wakes up? hmm.... i already tried reinstalling. I also tried installing from an msdn downloaded 8.1, but both of them screw up the tiles after sleep. :( can anyone else confirm having the same issue on 6 rows tiles?

8.1 and row tiles issue, only in SP or 8.1 in general?

yes but that only changes the screen from 3 rows to 4. To change it from 4 rows to 6 rows, you need to go to display settings and make the display smaller instead of default.

Why Did You Buy Your Surface Pro and How Do You Use It?

bought my SP to replace my asus zenbook and sony AIO. Right now I do all my work with this bad boy, from managing my datacenter to doing coding, occasional photoshop and illustrator, etc. This is one fine built tablet/PC. I haven't tried it on games though, as I really don't play any games...

8.1 and row tiles issue, only in SP or 8.1 in general?

Hey. Ok so the 8.1 is supposed to be RTM this Aug. There have been patches/updates rolling constantly. However, one issue that has not been fixed as of yet is the row tiles setting not sticking. I'm referring to the 6 row tiles in the SP, by setting in display more settings to smaller. When...

From Windows 8, to preview 8.1, and now back to 8.0.

yes. i'm able to stream netflix, huluplus in my SP without issues. I'm also able to use airparrot to stream from SP to appletv without issues (although the airparrot app itself has kind of clunky). not sure if me using a wireless AC router helps.

From Windows 8, to preview 8.1, and now back to 8.0.

8.1 runs good considering it's a preview. it does have some issues, like the 6 row tiles keep going back to 4 tiles after waking up from sleep. And the scanner via wifi doesn't work anymore when upgraded to 8.1 (brother MFC-J4510DW). Other than these two, it's working fine on my surface pro...

    Windows 8.1 on Surface Pro

anyone having issues with the tiles when set to 6 rows? It looks like it reverts back to 4 rows after the SP goes to sleep. If you reboot it goes back to 6 rows though. I also noticed that after waking up from sleep, the display settings->more options keep going back to default instead of...

scratch on gorilla glass, with type cover....

when they replaced it, I kept the existing type cover.... I don't see any dirt or dust...and the scratch is on the exact same spot as before.... in short, none of you encounter any issues with the SP being easily scratched? hmm.... if it was dust, I wonder how it can be in the exact same...

scratch on gorilla glass, with type cover....

I wish I was. But nothing is touching the screen except my finger, the pen, or the type cover. Besides I have never taken this out of the house since I got it. Yea there were some dust that I wipe off but that's about it. My Note 2 sits in my pocket with my car keys sometimes and not one...

scratch on gorilla glass, with type cover....

This is the second surface pro for me. The first one had a scratch on the screen on the upper left of the screen (on the black border). MS store has replaced the previous one and I have a protection plan. Now this one also has the same scratch on the same area of the screen. Bummer. Anyone...
