    i7 Iris 540 benchmarking showing 60% over i5 520

See my previous post. If the GPU is not throttling it's just TDP limitation. If both CPU and GPU throttle, it's 100% thermal throttling.

Solved Autorotate work for anyone on SP3 Windows 10?

That's good to know. Have you tried performing a system integrity scan: sfc/ scannow just to narrow down if it's a OS issue or not? You can always reapply the firmware updates at Microsoft download center.

Here. Not sure what you need but this is all I have in my Sensors:

Solved Autorotate work for anyone on SP3 Windows 10?

I guess the newer SP3 batches have different sensors on them. Mine is one of the earliest batches, and it doesn't have the Kionix Sensor Fusion Device. Auto-rotate works fine with Microsoft drivers 10.0.10586.0.

No more throttling for Surface Pro 3 :)

Mine DOES NOT throttle though when docked + external monitor. I get no lags and 1 - 1.1 GHz graphics frequency when running Asphalt 8. I noticed that Turbo is off when the GPU usage and frequency is maxed out. I believe it's TDP limitation. The whole SOC package is 19 Watts; CPU + GPU TDP is 15...

How to prevent Hardware Updates in Windows 10?

No issues with mine running latest updates. Currently there's no other way around it.

Solved best method to upgrade to windows 10?

I did mine from popup upgrade. It's been hassle free and is just as stable as clean install in my case.

    i7 Iris 540 benchmarking showing 60% over i5 520

Agreed. Also keep in mind that the CPU package power limit would be around 19 watts (CPU + GPU + others) (on my SP3 i5 at least). That means the CPU and GPU must find a balance to allocate this limited package power. In gaming scenarios the SOC is smart enough to allocate resources to the GPU in...

    Core M3 temperature

I don't have the m3 model. I think the m3 will heat up, but I don't expect it to heat up over 80 degrees due to TDP. The i5 model gets to 90+ temps when I game on it.

    Geekbench 3 poor scores

My i5 can come close to the i7 models with a single core score of 2903 and 5624 multicore scores.

Battery drain while connected to power?

Same here. Playing steam games consume more power than what the adapter can provide resulting to battery drain

    i7 Iris 540 benchmarking showing 60% over i5 520

Not much CPU speed improvement over my SP3 i5. I'll wait 'till its 50% better CPU benchmark. Microsoft Corporation Surface Pro 3 vs OEMAP OEMAP Product - Geekbench Browser

Surface pro 4 Slow Wifi issues

What I don't get is that SP3 has the EXACT same WiFi as SP4 yet SP3 doesn't have any issues at all. My router can even provide all of my 300 Mbps via WiFi from my SP3.

you guys are getting this BSOD too right?

Man. You had issues with SP3 and you still have it with SP4. Seems like you have rotten luck wih Surfaces LOL

Consistent steam game crashes after 15 minutes

The first time I run CS GO, steam prompted me to install direct x before it's able to launch. Maybe some of your games aren't fully compatible with directx 11.1 thus you need to install directx 10, 9.0, or 11.0 libraries to be fully compatible. Some games like DOTA 2 allows different directx...

Consistent steam game crashes after 15 minutes

I only have CS GO on my SP3 and store app games. I did have to update my DirectX libraries to play CS GO. If it's crashing without any notice, i'd try Intel video drivers directly from intel download center as well as updating your direct x from Steam.

Consistent steam game crashes after 15 minutes

What Steam games are you currently running? I have CS GO which taxes both CPU and GPU to the max and it doesn't crash with Intel July 17 drivers. It runs at 50-80 FPS on default (suggested based on the GPU detection) settings. That game even discharges my battery since the power brick can't...

July one (RTM version 10240). I full screen videos on YouTube using IE. No problems at all.

Same version as you. Never had experienced a BSOD from the video drivers though.
