New Surface Pro (2017) - Overheating under load when plugged in.

The new Pro doesn't get as hot as the old SP3 under load in my experience.

CPU Throttling on 15 inch Surface Book 2 after 1709?

^ I wouldn't worry about the screen though, if you can find an X-ray image or a ifixit image of SB2's internal on the tablet side, look at where the heatsinks are laid out on the batteries. If they're are next to them, there's a possibility for a premature battery degradation due to heat.

    Audio Issues with production applications

Since you're using the surface with latency sensitive programs, I'd go full unlock the power option features by disabling connected standby. There you can tweak all of the power saving to minimum when on battery.

Factory reset on Surface Pro 2017?

Read this technical article from Microsoft: UEFI/GPT-based hard drive partitions Recover partition = Win RE tools

Factory reset on Surface Pro 2017?

The Win RE partition is part of GPT boot partitions just like some partitions that you need to keep back when MBR was the common so you can't remove that partition.

    Audio Issues with production applications

Adjust your buffer to 2048 ms. With this, I can playback without lags whatsoever even if the CPU is taxed close to 100% load

CPU Throttling on 15 inch Surface Book 2 after 1709?

^ It might be that at the moment you close the game, the CPU is at maximum compared to when you're playing games. Gaming temps are normal IMO, but during exiting is not.

Is the New Surface Pro 4 entry level up to the job

^ Unless you defeat thermal throttling schemes implemented in the BIOS/UEFI, there's is no way your Pro 3 or 4 would meltdown. The only way I see them fail is that that the battery is constantly subjected to excessive heat from the heatsinks (especially with SP4 and the SP) and that will cause...

What is the best way to clone a SP4 onto a new SP2017?

    A) any imaging cloning software will do like Macrium reflect B) The license is tied to your MS account. Just de-activate/remove your profile association with the old SP4 on the MS website and your Drawboard should install without issues.

CPU Throttling on 15 inch Surface Book 2 after 1709?

Looks normal to me since the ave voltage is 1.16v. Your CPU speed is too high for web browsing IMO. I'd keep the profile to "better performance" instead of "best performance"

Surface Book 2 issues with integrated graphics

How about changing the brightness to "brighter" instead of "suggested"?

Try to change the color profile to sRGB and see if that helps

CPU Throttling on 15 inch Surface Book 2 after 1709?

Definitely normal now. Those bad batches came with bad CPU binning.

CPU Throttling on 15 inch Surface Book 2 after 1709?

HWINFO shouldn't even tax your CPU whatsoever

CPU Throttling on 15 inch Surface Book 2 after 1709?

Seems like there are more "runaway" 8650U chips here with excessive voltages leading to very high temperatures. Anyways a 1.2 V constant voltage is way too much for just web browsing. A normal chip would've at least be less than 0.8 V when web browsing and less than 40 degrees at least.

CPU Throttling on 15 inch Surface Book 2 after 1709?

Not normal since it should withstand a full CPU stress test without reaching 100 oC. This means you can't video edit a full 2 hour length video without thermal throttling your CPU.

    Kick Stand Wobble

I think the quality varies. Mine was the very first batches and it doesn't wobble nor have that loose feeling on extreme angles when it is on my lap. I would go to MS store and maybe they'll give you a replacement.
