FYI, the vaio Canvas tablet will run circles on this thing on CPU extensive tasks ignoring throttling issues:
Quad Core i7-4770HQ on the canvas vs i7-6600U on the surface book. The i5 Surface book is only 13% better than my SP3 i5 on RAW CPU performance: Microsoft Corporation Surface Book vs...
Excluding GPU, there's too much hype about the i5 surface book CPU performance:
It's only 13% faster than my SP3 i5 at maximum potential which is subpar for a 6th gen CPU with a much higher base clock (2.5 GHz - 3 GHz Turbo vs 1.9 - 2.9 GHz Turbo on the 4th Gen i5). It'll be a different case...
No such packet loss issues on mine. Tested with 2 hour streaming of a lossless 25 GB Blu-Ray movie file attached to the USB in the router played using movies and tv app. Streaming is as perfect as it could.
Speed is still amazing. It can still transfer over 300 Mbps internet wirelessly from router.
Once you open store, updates should show up but won't automatically install. However, if you don't open up the store, you won't see that you have updates.
Just nature of the beast of Windows. Same exact hardware but different software configurations can make or break a Windows update. This is why rich people switch to Macs for personal use
Also, per your screenshot it seems that wudfsvc or Windows Driver Foundation – User-mode Driver Framework is what is causing your excessive CPU and Disk usage too.. I'd try a clean boot restart for sure.
Dunno...
I don't use Edge since it is easily hacked by ransomware while IE has TPL and ActiveX Filtering that stops all of browser hijacking attempts.
I'd try doing a clean boot and see if it helps with your RAM use while in the dock: How to Clean Boot Windows 10 and Windows 8
There has to be something consuming so much of your CPU to have a 60 degrees screen temperature.
You need to diagnose of your running programs and see which is the number 1 CPU hog.

BTW, No issues whatsoever on 5 GHz using the Linksys WRT1900ACv1 (also uses Marvell chip like SP3).

BTW, Marvell isn't a piece of crap. Intel WiFi is crap though. No issues whatsoever on 5 GHz using the Linksys WRT1900ACv1 (also uses Marvell chip like SP3).
You do need a reliable WiFi router though if you're subscribing to a high bandwidth service :). This is my main reason for buying Linksys WRT1900AC despite having the least amount of features for the price. IMO, Reliability/Stability is more important than features. I'm just showing off that...
I primarily use Linksys WRT1900AC version 1 which also has a Marvell chip on it. Marvell based router connected to Marvell based adapter (SP3) = Zero WiFi issues (at least on my end).
