    Ordered Mine from Costco today

I went to a Microsoft Store and asked if they could match the pre-order price from Costco, and they said no because Costco requires a paid membership. I went ahead and just ordered from Costco and it was delivered on the first day of availability. Even if I didn't already have a membership, the...

    Surface 3 Charging

The problem with using any random MicroUSB charger you find is that if it only sharges at the rate of .5w, you really won't get any useful charge unless you power off the Surface and leave it connected for hours. Not practical unless you are leaving it overnight to charge. You cannot "top up"...

    Surface 3 Charging

Has anyone tried charge-only cables like these? http://www.amazon.com/PortaPow-Specialised-Blackberry-Transformer-Charging/dp/B00T0DW3LC/ I'm thinking I could use these cables to charge at home and then use the OEM charging cable that fits more flush to the tablet could be used with an Anker...

Use Microsoft Wireless Display With HDMI Swith?

I said "compact," and specified that it would only be 2 inputs required (one for wired and one for wireless display) in the conference rooms but I see now that people have different ideas of what compact is. When I looked up Creston HDMI switches, I only saw some pretty big boxes. In the second...

Use Microsoft Wireless Display With HDMI Swith?

No, the Crestons looks huge and heavy and over $1000. I'm looking for something very compact that can fit hidden behind a TV, under $200 and is also a quality grade or two above the home use plastic switchers you see on Amazon for under $40.

Use Microsoft Wireless Display With HDMI Swith?

I'd like to set this up on a TV in conference rooms and avoid users having to figure out how to change inputs on the TV. The way we want this to work is for the wireless display to come on by default when the tv is powered on. If the person is using a laptop that doesn't support wireless...

Surface 3 Doesn't Support Intel WiDi

Ok, it may have only have been a coincidence that only our older laptops with vPro supported WiDi. I know for sure that Intel "Pro WiDi" features requires vPro and may require at least 4th generation Intel chips. There seems to be no Windows 7 support for Miracast, so we have to use Intel WiDi...

Love it but it keeps freezing

When Windows 10 comes out, I'll try it then. Maybe I'll switch to the Windows 10 preview after it has a few more iterations of updates in June or July. Right now Chrome or Firefox work better for most things I use browsers for.

Surface 3 Doesn't Support Intel WiDi

Surface 3 supports Bitlocker and everything else we need. Also, I don't know for sure that Miracast doesn't have acceptable encryption I'm asking a question about it. I only know that the Surface 3 doesn't support Intel WiDi that's more business enterprise oriented.

Surface 3 Doesn't Support Intel WiDi

Like the i3 version of the SP3, the S3 doesn't support Intel WiDi because that requires a vPro CPU and other specific hardware requirements They instead only support the consumer oriented Miracast wireless display. Miracast is easier to set up and is good enough for most people. Nobody will...

Love it but it keeps freezing

Chrome has a nice feature that IE doesn't. It recognizes and uses the on screen keyboard automatically when on the desktop. Don't know why Microsoft's own browser doesn't do this on the desktop. Saves the step of having to keep manually launching the keyboard from the task bar. IE also fails...

Additional fast charging cable similar to OEM?

My question is mostly about finding an alternate cable that has a low profile when plugged into the Surface so it fits in a tight tote bag without having to severely bend the cable where it connects. Otherwise, I may just order another Microsoft charger including the brick, but that seems like...

Additional fast charging cable similar to OEM?

Instead of buying an additional $40 charger when all I need is the cable, where can I get a charging cable that will allow maximum charging speed and also has the similar slim 90 degree angle so that it won't protrude out when plugged into the Surface? I'm looking for something that will be...

    1920X1280 desktop on a 10 inch screen?

I deleted the Windows profile and started over. I believe I was just trying to open IE and the screen went black for several seconds and then a message balloon came up saying something similar to "the video display adapter driver has stopped responding" and then the display came back. Then a...

    1920X1280 desktop on a 10 inch screen?

The custom resolutions don't seem to be stable. The Surface 3's video display has crashed a couple of times since I changed the resolution to 1440x900.

    Mini DisplayPort Cap/Cover?

Is there a cap available that can be used to neatly cover the mini displayport opening so that users do not try to insert the charging cable into the video port? I don't want to put tape over the port.

    1920X1280 desktop on a 10 inch screen?

Just tried it at 1440x900 after importing the registry file. A little more screen real estate than the typical 1366x768 laptop, but still very readable on the desktop and you can toggle back to full 1920x1080 for videos or anything else you want at full resolution relatively easily. This is the...

I thought Windows 10 didn't work with the new Surface 3 because proper drivers are not yet available?
