I have a SP3 and a S3 and I use both regularly. Here is how I use both. My work involves a lot of writing and reading. My SP3 is my primary writing and other computing work device. At that time, I had an iPad Air which was primarily used for my reading and reference work. But what I missed on it...

Nopes...not changed either batteries in the Pen which I got with my SP3 when it was released in N. America more than a year back. Still working fine - though I have bought and kept aside a pack of 4 AAAA batteries.

Why stop there? Maybe MS should also enable you to upgrade to SP4 for free.

You could try Book Viser. I use it in combination with Book Bazar. I have the premium version of the former. Both are quite good though I seem to be preferring Book Bazar more than Book Viser.

Any idea when this TH2 is supposed to be released? Will it be this year or at the beginning of next year? And, is there not supposed to be another major update coming up after TH2 too?

So, in effect, this firmware update is to bring the SP3 up to speed with the new dock and the KB, among other things? I notice though that after the update my SP3 is running warm (but not hot) and the fans are on.

I hear ya! For the longest while I was thinking about the same thing. But - this was till I picked up the S3. Using the Pen that came with the SP3, the S3 has become my go-to writing device, which makes a phone with Pen capabilities a bit redundant in my use case scenario - though I am sure...
