There is no way that the SP3 will be able to keep up with the rMBP in terms of top end computing (i.e. Heavy Gaming, Big Boy Virtualization, CAD/3D Design, etc.). That being said however, the SP3 is perfectly capable of doing everything at least 95% of the computing population would ever need...

The SP3 dock is nothing like the SP1/SP2 dock... I think it'd be wise to wait and see if it will have the same issues or not. It's pretty clear that the additional connectors found around the power connector are going to be used for something...

I'm waiting for my dock too... With the SP3's incompatibility with Cisco EAP-FAST at the moment... it's a requirement in my office.

I've on occasion used a portable USB power bank to supply juice when cable management became an issue. Once again... not ideal, but an idea that does work in certain situations.

It works, but would be much more useful if it there were readily available Y-Cable with the extra power connection at least as long as the mag connector cable from the power brick. It can be pulled off with a Male to Female USB extension, but it's not "elegant" IMHO. Azure IaaS is a fine...

As much as I do agree with this approach, I do feel it's untenable in many situations. Most Y adapters are rather short on the end where you'd need to plug into the SP3 power brick, so you'd need to be within arms length of a plug to make it happen without purchasing yet another cable which...

Yep. That's the one, but I got mine from NewEgg a while back. It's really been a great portable monitor. I did have to change to a Targus Pewter 16" backpack to carry it though, but it fits perfectly in there and the surface fits fine in the tablet slot of the backpack.

I've got that 128GB SanDisk in my SP3 from literally day one and have ZERO issues with it. It's awesome being able to store all of the docs that I might want to take with me should I ever depart from the SP3 easily by just removing the card.

I guess I "could" disable connected standby as the system is most certainly stable in other operation other than when it tries to enter connected standby. I don't know...I actually think it's just better to use the per-app profiles and be done with it that way (win/win).

I just can't recommend doing this on a system-wide basis if my SP3 is any indication. I've dialed it all the way back to -30mV but I get consistent crashes/reboots when the system tries to enter connected stand by. Are others noting the same behavior? This might be better done on a per-app basis.
