Is anybody else using a Surface 3 and another Surface?

I have a SP3 and a S3 and I use both regularly. Here is how I use both. My work involves a lot of writing and reading. My SP3 is my primary writing and other computing work device. At that time, I had an iPad Air which was primarily used for my reading and reference work. But what I missed on it...

How many times have you replaced the main battery in your SP3 Pen?

Nopes...not changed either batteries in the Pen which I got with my SP3 when it was released in N. America more than a year back. Still working fine - though I have bought and kept aside a pack of 4 AAAA batteries.

SP4 Pen on SP3. Anyone try it out?

Why stop there? Maybe MS should also enable you to upgrade to SP4 for free.

Things I Like & Dislike about the Surface 3

I quite like the S3. First things first, it has totally replaced my iPad Air. I use the S3 as a pure tablet (browsing, reading, inking). What I like about it: (1) aspect ratio; (2) lightweight; (3) fanless (and it stays cool); (4) nice screen. However, I also think there are some areas in which...

    Good ereader

You could try Book Viser. I use it in combination with Book Bazar. I have the premium version of the former. Both are quite good though I seem to be preferring Book Bazar more than Book Viser.

    do you prefer windows 10

Any idea when this TH2 is supposed to be released? Will it be this year or at the beginning of next year? And, is there not supposed to be another major update coming up after TH2 too?

    10/26 firmware inbound

So, in effect, this firmware update is to bring the SP3 up to speed with the new dock and the KB, among other things? I notice though that after the update my SP3 is running warm (but not hot) and the fans are on.

Will you go MS all the way to phone if you already have surface book?

I hear ya! For the longest while I was thinking about the same thing. But - this was till I picked up the S3. Using the Pen that came with the SP3, the S3 has become my go-to writing device, which makes a phone with Pen capabilities a bit redundant in my use case scenario - though I am sure...

Will you go MS all the way to phone if you already have surface book?

I can relate to this. As long I have my banking app (which is available), my favoured airline app (which is also available), a couple of messaging apps (Telegram and Whatsapp which are both available), a couple of communication apps (Skype and Viber which are available), some news apps (MS News...

Poll For those keeping their Surface Pro 3 which accessories are you updating?

If you don't mind my asking - though it is indeed OT - but what kind of a phone do you use?

    950 or 950XL?

    What are you talking about???
  16. kristalsoldier

    950 or 950XL?

After the 1520 and the 640XL, for my the choice is clear - specs aside, it will have to be the 950XL!!!!!

So what is the real impetus to upgrade to 4?

Well, if you don't have a SP3 and are buying into the Surface Pro line, then, of course, the SP4 is an excellent buy - and it is the latest tech available. The same argument and logic applies to those who have the SP1 and SP2. But for SP3 owners, the logic and argument is not necessarily absent...

    OneDrive use cases

Well, I use OneDrive extensively. I have an entire set of my documentation - papers and manuscripts that I am working on, my digital library, working notes, and other digital documents are on OneDrive. But I also have a copy of all files on OneDrive on a dedicated external HDD which I update...
