    Wifi coming back from hibernate?

That is odd. I used to see that a lot with my SP1, but the SP3 is rock solid when it comes to dealing with WiFi.

Microsoft Might be Looking to Ditch Internet Explorer for Windows 10

I use IE both modern and desktop all the time with very few issues. But where in the past IE was the go to browser that worked everywhere, that's just not the case these days. Here's a couple things that made me get Chrome as a solution. 1. Office 365 Home account page - can't add a new...

Why you should move to Surface Pro 3

These kind of discussions can get away from the topic quite easily. I have an SP3 that I got yesterday to replace my SP1 and it is a great move up from that. But I also have a MacBook Pro and iPad Air 2 and they are wonderful in their own right. Apple's big leg up overall is their ecosystem...

Well, you guys finally done it

I'm a new owner of a Surface Pro 3, i5 w/256Gb SSD & 8Gb RAM. Started out getting a Yoga 3 Pro. Not a good move! :( The Yoga 3 Pro uses an 'M' processor and is very laggy, very easy to have it miss a touch. And no stylus support beyond the sucky capacitive ones! Got it this morning, took...

    Microsft Office ?

Apple does include their consumer grade office apps though. iWork comes with all of their computers now. It isn't MS Office grade of course, but it is pretty good for consumers.

    Solved Confused about Office 365

I suppose it isn't because they can't, they just don't want to. The Office web apps are generally considered as stripped down versions that have enough features for casual users of those apps. I think they do a great job of that. But since MS is in the software business, I doubt they will...

    Touch screen/touch pad/mouse

I haven't seen that issue. Though I have seen that sometimes it is hard to actually select the item with touch, usually because you aren't exactly on the right spot.

    Solved Confused about Office 365

No it isn't. The Office Online is there for anyone that goes to the OneDrive site and registers. Even the ones that just get the free space. No differences in that whether you subscribe to Office365, take only the free, or use the shrink wrapped 2013. Office365 is a subscription model which...

Office365 Now with unlimited OneDrive storage!!

Interesting... I just copied an exe file with no problem at all. Wonder if the problem isn't G-Mail and not OneDrive??

Office365 Now with unlimited OneDrive storage!!

What can't be stored there? I haven't run across anything yet. Well other than files from OSX that had file names that MS doesn' allow.

Windows 10 Tech Preview on SP1

It doesn't mess up the recovery partition, but it does change it so that it will restore to W10 and not the original W8. You have to do some seriously irritating convolutions to get it back to original and it isn't fun at all. I'm now in a better situation with fiddling around with W10 should...

    Coming back from W10

I do too, but not on the SP. I tend to be using my SP on my lap and doing almost entirely things that I can do with 'modern ui' apps. In that, W10 brings nothing to the table imo. When continuum gets implemented I'll revisit.

    Coming back from W10

I had it on my SP1 and had no problems, but I wanted to go back as there are warnings about making it a daily driver. Won't ever put the tech preview back on the SP1 as it is downright painful to do the restore though I've since learned more. Now I have an image of my entire SSD on my WD USB3...

    Type Cover Serial Number

When I did mine the tech told me that the number I thought was a serial number was actually the product number and that the covers didn't have serial numbers.

    Type Cover Serial Number

Try a chat with MS. I know the original type and power covers didn't have serial numbers at all and I suspect yours doesn't either. I went through chat with them when I had a bad type cover and they replaced with no problems.

Do Not BUY SP3. You will be sorry

The way I look at it is that if you are going to charge Apple like prices for the Surface, then you need to have service and support as good as Apple's. And that's just not the case all too many times.

Windows 10 Tech Preview on SP1

I've done it a couple times. First time I had it install straight to the SP1 and kept everything. All my apps and such worked just fine. But I decided that W10 isn't really ready for the touch interface and went back to W8.1. THAT was not fun at all!! Now I just finished installing it in a...

How do I create a Win 8.1 recovery USB for the SP1?

I made the image to the WD USB 3 drive and then made a bootable USB stick. All of that went pretty quick. I haven't done an actual restore yet, but checked out the booting and seeing the image. The first thing I found out was that I had to turn off secure boot in order to do it. No big deal.

How do I create a Win 8.1 recovery USB for the SP1?

I'm making another backup of my HP machine now with Acronis. For the Surface Pro, I can do the same thing later today. Will Acronis allow for creation of a bootable USB stick or just a DVD/CD? That's rather important as I don't have an external DVD unit except for my Apple one and the SP...
