The first quote is a flub or lie however you want to take it. He does go on to describe the fan... It offers a great gaming experience for me. So does my X360, Wii, PS4, Fire TV, Moto X, Atari Jaguar (well, not so much), Commodore 128, Samsung RF510, etc. but you get the picture.

It's in the Graphics subfolder. You have to select "Let me choose the driver" then "Have disk".

Extract the driver. Update the driver via Device Manager. Look in the folder where the driver is extracted and Windows will see the .ini file. Select it and you're g2g.

I have beta Intel drivers 10.18.10.3652. You have to install these manually. The control panel is there for me. Gives some nice additional options such as "performance" mode. Also, you can use OpenCL with these drivers in CC2014 and 3D applications.

Yep HD Flash at full screen triggers fan for me also. Other video doesn't.

I've never seen an ad comparing the SP3 to the SP2 saying it was faster or slower. Only ads I've seen is hipster ads and the new ones comparing MBA. Seeing as we're in the same profession(s), I'd love to see the ad and what it claimed the SP3 can do.

Understandable. I was talking about the SP3 forum. I don't have a SP2 so I don't go to that forum.

1. Different countries have different laws with regards to channel frequency and power levels via WiFi. 2. The SP3 does allow it. Not sure why you're having trouble. 3. I hope you get a unit you like!

Opening a file is tough on your SP3? You should definitely take it back. It's too bad that the device isn't for you. We'll miss having your contributions to this forum.

1. MS is correct. Depends on your router. 2. That's pretty slow. On my AC connection it's super fast. Why are you xferring 50gb wirelessly though? I haven't had this trouble so not sure your issue. 3. My USB connection is firm. Perhaps you got a bad unit. Why not purchase from MS directly...

Which ad is that? Do they show the SP3 with a rendering window with the percentage rendered increasing dramatically? If you're rendering all day on a SP3, you're using the wrong tool. If you're modeling or piecing together video on the SP3 and still having problems, you may have a lemon. Or...

I've tried with the 2.4 band on my Asus: same problem.

It's funny...I'm editing a show right now using Premiere 2014 and creating a model for a logo animation using Rhino 3D on my SP3. It's working for me great. Maybe you have a lemon? Or are you just rendering all day? Glad I got one of the good ones!! ;)

Sounds like you're better off with the Pro2. It is too bad MS didn't make the product you wanted. Perhaps Apple will? Or you can always "wait for Broadwell". Good luck!

This happens to me on both my RT-AC66u at home and my work router. I have to turn airplane on and off to get connectivity back. Haven't tried rolling back driver or changing channels at home yet.
