Offline or web install won't work for me on my sp3. A google search turns up similar cases.

This is undoubtedly true. I can't even install Chrome on my sp3. It never installs. Granted, I only wanted to use it for Chromecast support but it's insane that it won't install - I know others have done it but it won't for me and that's fine.

No. I use my Surface almost exclusively as a laptop though.

Maybe look into another device that doesn't affect productivity and stress you out? You can get a pretty good return if you sell it I imagine.

Not my i7 256. Maybe I'm lucky. I render with Premiere on this all the time too.

SO I left work and was connected to a N network, hit the power button to have SP3 sleep, put SP3 in leather folio, and went home. Pulled SP3 out of folio and it was warm. Unlocked SP3 and 15 seconds later it was connected to my AC network. That's my experience with new firmware.
