Hi Guys, A new member here from... hard to say where. I work in Asia, spend 90% of my leave in Poland, but also 10% of it in the UK, where I still have a place. Pre-ordered a Surface 2 from MS UK and hoping to get it to where I am by mid November. Currently using an Android tablet.

Definitely subscribing to this thread. Just pre-ordered a Surface 2 and will want to see how it works for travelling light. I generally prefer to carry a battery pack over the DC adapter and might use some tips from here.

You are forgetting about how many people play with the store units and how many things can go wrong because of that.

For my phone and Android tablet I use a Trent IMP70D. Has 2 USB ports with 1.0 and 2.1A. For chargink uses MicroUSB which saves space as I do not need a spearate charger for the battery itself. For non-USB charging you have to look at power monkey and the like.
