New Surface Pro 2 User from Apple

It could still be the card. None of the steps above identify whether it's the card or the reader that's faulty.

Incipio "capture" and "feather" cases for Surface

Yeah, it does seem a little odd. I'll report back if I hear anything.

Incipio "capture" and "feather" cases for Surface

I couldn't find them on the UK store. And, it does have vents but I thought it was only on the top and top sides.

UK Impressions of the Surface Pro 2

Yeah, so did I ... (not that I was overly keen on the £165 price tag, anyway). Making it out of plastic is a terrible decision.

Anyone else get the old Pro charger with their Pro 2?

Both types of the charger have a light on them. The old charger has a dot on one end. The new charger has a ring around it. So, that might suggest that your charger or the device is broken (or that it wasn't switched on at the mains). My SP2 came with the old type charger. But, if jamesk is...

    Post Screenshots Here!

Mine appears like this when I first switch on my SP2 or if I remove the tile and add it. But, providing I have an internet connection it updates within 30 seconds.

Incipio "capture" and "feather" cases for Surface

I've posted a message on their Facebook page, asking them if a Feather case is in development for the Pro series and, if so, how they've considered my concerns about the device being unable to cool efficiently. I'll let you all now if I receive a response.

    Screen Brightness

jamesk. I'm not having this problem. In fact, I wish my screen could go darker (when working in low light environments). In a well lit room I only need the brightness around 20% (it looks like the bar is 20% of the way up, anyway. I don't know how to check the exact figure). But, perhaps, I...

Incipio "capture" and "feather" cases for Surface

I really like the Feather snap-on case. But, I am highly concerned about the device being unable to dissipate the heat well enough, considering that the back and majority of the vents are covered. I would really like it if we could find out from Incipio how they feel they've taken that into...

    Potential First Time Owner

Okay. I'll give that a shot. This is my first Windows 8 (.1) computer/device and I've always been against putting machines to sleep but perhaps Windows 8.1 handles it much better.

Manafacturing Defects on the Surface RT

I suspect they'd consider it cosmetic, rather than a hardware fault, which the warranty won't cover. But, I would keep pushing for it because, whether it's officially covered or not that shouldn't happen within the space of 6 months (although, of course, that does also depend on its usual...

    Potential First Time Owner

As I don't have a Touch or Type cover yet I was keen to try and switch off the display, if I knew I was only going to be putting it down for a few moments but wanted to try and save on battery life. So, I tried changing the Power button to "Do Nothing" hoping it would still at least turn off the...

    Best BackUp Solution?

oion. This is exactly what I intend to do. I'm hoping to get a large SD card, partition it so that Windows thinks it's two separate drives, and then have it backup everything to one partition and use the other for additional storage. I'm not sure if it'll allow me to create two partitions on...

Loose volume rocker on new Surface 2

I can't say I have that problem on my SP2. I used the volume rocker for the first time last night and it seemed incredibly sturdy. But, I haven't shaken the device yet so I can't confirm whether or not it makes a rattling noise.

Creating recovery media; will an 8GB USB Flash Drive suffice?

I can't seem to find a USB 3.0 flash drive, anywhere. All the stores I've tried only have USB 2.0.

I'm aggravated that I have to hold it down, too. If you find anything out please let me know!

Creating recovery media; will an 8GB USB Flash Drive suffice?

Thanks! I did remember to make sure it was USB 3.0. Until I went to buy it ... So, I'll have to pick up another one tomorrow!

Creating recovery media; will an 8GB USB Flash Drive suffice?

Just a quick question. I'd like to create some recovery media for my SP2, as soon as possible (as it'll free up space and mean that I have recovery media not stored locally on the device). I had a quick look last night and confirmed that I need 8GB of space to create recovery media. Is that...

Anyone else get the old Pro charger with their Pro 2?

Personally, I prefer the old charger with the dot on the top ... ;) (Unless, of course, there's a major difference in performace)
