any info on how to install intel video drivers? or do i need them?

Extract the driver and then install through the Device Manager. I assume once you've done that you can install via the executable in the future.

It's that time of the month again

The driver 15.33.10.3368 works fine for me but I didn't run setup after reading that the CP didn't work. I installed via the Device Manager, working perfectly so far and have noticed no display anomalies.

deleted stuff coming back and sp2 working overtime while idle

If it happens again, disable networking. That should provide some clues. If you are sure someone wasn't attached or that your SP2 wasn't acting as a multimedia server, did you install any CODEC's?

deleted stuff coming back and sp2 working overtime while idle

Sounds like you have a Share going on, so more of a Windows 8 issue.

Do ALL SP2s suffer from hi CPU utilization when idle due to faulty audio drivers?

Not known at this time, I just thought it was a wake with a SD card mounted issue until it was noted you could fix it by disabling Realtek Audio.

Investors want Microsoft to kill Surface

Investors want cost cuts announced at all times for all of the companies they own stock in, how is this ever news?

My marvell network driver version is still 14.69.24039.134

I think 160 was pulled, my driver reverted to 150 through Windows Update. I'm not worried about it and don't understand why anyone would unless they are having WiFi issues. If so you can get 136 which while not the latest is a stable release.

just bought my SP2 and stuck already

Just get the Kindle App from the Store. You will be accessing such app's from the Metro or Tiles UI. Why would you want to do this from the old school desktop? That is best for legacy applications or non-Metro app's.

Try removing devices via the Control Panel. To keep your Arc Touch Mouse, or any Bluetooth device for that matter, from disconnecting disable Power Management for the Bluetooth Adapter in the Device Manager.

Really Terrible Battery Life With Pro 2?

If you rely on a SD card you should just be aware of the issue of unusually high CPU usage after wake. I don't use a SD card but after seeing all the discussion about SD cards I was curious and so pulled the SD card from my phone. I didn't see it right away but eventually I was able to...

Really Terrible Battery Life With Pro 2?

Google it, surprised it is news to any SP2 owner. Monitor CPU utilization and after a few wakes you'll notice the percentage getting pegged at 24% or above. To stop it you can either disable Realtek Audio or force a sleep / wake. Of course if you aren't monitoring you will probably not notice...

Really Terrible Battery Life With Pro 2?

After wake from hibernate the CPU can be pegged at 25 - 30% when a SD card is mounted, this can accelerate battery drain if the user is unaware.

Really Terrible Battery Life With Pro 2?

If you are using a SD card then that is a reason for poor battery performance.

    Arc Mouse Surface Edition problem

This is common for Bluetooth devices under Windows 8, turn off Power Management for the Bluetooth Adapter in the Device Manager.

Surface Pro 2 Firmware and Driver Pack

One of the recent releases is bugged, not sure which one probably should have looked before doing a remove including driver in order to get my wireless NIC working again. I let Windows Update install .150 but if I have issues I will go back to the August driver.

No availabilty because of popularity or problems

And Xbox, but this isn't unique to MS when it comes to shareholders. Shareholders love it when cost cuts are announced, layoffs being companies go to method of appeasement.

No availabilty because of popularity or problems

I don't see how one can jump to quality as a reason. I've had a 256 since launch and except for MS forcing me to use a broken firmware for a month the device has been brilliant.

Surface Pro 2 Auto Sleep not working

This can happen when you are hosting a shared network resource or when attached to a network resource, but the latter is less likely. Turning off WiFi would eliminate what I just mentioned.

    Contemplating Surface Pro 2

For me it depends on how mobile you want to be and yet still have a fully working "laptop" with a beautiful screen, SP2 will be hard to beat here. If you don't care about weight and size then there are cheaper alternatives that can also be better for gaming. I should add that my just over a...
