    Phone compatibility

I was wondering this too. With the iPhone 6+ coming out, I'm debating whether or not to get the Lumina 1520. I just don't know now. I LOVE LOVE Windows 8+ (Cause I took the time to learn it) and I really think that phones powered by Windows could blow Apple out of the water if they just had...

    Waiting for my third surface...

That's too bad. At least they're exchanging it. That last one looks like someone over did the brightness. Might also be a good test case for - don't buy something like this without trying it out LIVE. Bought mine at a Microsoft Retail, had them set it up (as they offered) and everything...

September Patch Tuesday - No WiFi Fix for SP3

Yup, that's what I said. In humble opinion. Apparently, some one needs to watch, "The Internship". Click the "log in" button to save your work. It's not hard. Develop good work practices and you will NEVER use Hibernate again.

    Anyone tried using Firefox Nightly?

I tried the newest version of Firefox and I think it's garbage. When they decided to drop development for the MUI version it became even worse. I used to use it as my only browser but now I stay with MUI IE. It's fast, secure and doesn't seem to have any problems rendering HD. I use my...

September Patch Tuesday - No WiFi Fix for SP3

Wish I knew how to do that stuff. Isn't that (VS) how you write programs for windows apps?

September Patch Tuesday - No WiFi Fix for SP3

Yeah, but in reality, that's just poor work practice. First, IMHO, no developer worth his / her damn should be doing anything without utilizing auto backups. Also, who doesn't know how to hit the save button EVERYTIME you write something important or which cannot be easily recreated. I hit...

September Patch Tuesday - No WiFi Fix for SP3

I'm wondering if people are actually having problems with their "router" firmware more than SP3 WiFi. When I'm at home, I connect to the Hi-Band and it FLIES though the web. No drops in connectivity. I DID have problems when trying to use AT&T hot spots but NEVER any problems with Xfinity...

    Solved Something strange

Yes, thank you. It's working fine again. That's a great feature. I'm always continuing to be amazed by some of the "hidden" gems of W8+. People really are missing out.

    Solved Something strange

I did a Refresh and everything is working correctly again. WOW ! That is a feature I so wish I had years ago. I love that it even logs programs that would need to be installed if you want to keep them. Volume button - working as it's supposed to. Sleep button - working as it's supposed to...

    Solved Something strange

Okay, I don't know if it was the update or I screwed something up. Maybe someone could help me? Two strange things are now happening. They're not really strange but I got used to the old method and it's throwing off my game. 1 - When I hit the up VOLUME button, now it suddenly turns on the...

September Patch Tuesday - No WiFi Fix for SP3

I must have something different on my system as I don't have any WIFI problems. The only problem I have is that I want more hot spots. LOL. I do take that back, I do have a problem with WIFI dropping when the signal is weak but NEVER when I'm actually in range of the Hotspots or my home network.

    Quicken?

Yes, you CAN enter transactions manually. Though, I don't. Unless there is something with a tip. It does everything I need for managing my family's finances.

    App Recomendations?

Saw some good apps posted here but nothing to tell you what they are. Here are some of my favorites with a description: Mint - From the creators of Quicken, it's probably the best financial manager out there. Tap Talk - Touch Friendly Forum interaction. This forum and many others are...

    Quicken?

Quicken, unless you're using it for business, is old news. If you're using it to manage your finances, Mint is far better. I don't have to enter any transactions because it links up with my bank to enter them automatically. Then I just classify the spending with categories. You could also...

Surface Pro 3 Tips & Tricks

Are you double clicking it? It works for me too. Maybe you're expecting something else. When you double click the pen, the screen dims for a split second, then you should see it open (quickly) OneNote and go to a shaded view of your screen. There on the top, it SHOULD say, "Select Region to...

You could also use SpyBot Search & Destroy Immunization Feature. That's how it works. It updates your host file.

Microsoft to unveil Windows 9 next month

Well said. I mean, really; how difficult is it to just begin typing, pull up the search charm and soon ask Cortland how to do things? There is so much that can be done and done more quickly over it's predecessors that I'm truly baffled to hear people complain about such silly little (and...

Microsoft to unveil Windows 9 next month

Start Menu? Seriously? That's what users are complaining about? How lazy can a user be? Getting rid of the Charms menu? WTF? It puts EVERYTHING you need to quickly access right there. (Volume, Network, Brightness, Keyboard mode etch) why would they do that? Who are these morons that...
