    Surface 3 Charging

My Anker 12000mAh external never shut down and took the S3 from 70% to 100% in about an hour, most of the time the S3 was sleeping with 5-10 minutes use, using about 40% of the battery by it's led gauge ...... unscientific but exactly what I was looking for.

anyone plug the power keyboard into a s3 yet?

It will only work as a keyboard. The keyboard battery doesn't function. The Surface 3 doesn't have the hardware connection; it isn't just a driver problem. The outermost female plugs (holes) on the S3 don't have the power posts they are just for keyboard alignment.

Not sure the point since I was talking about the responses of this particular discussion and at that particular time (Apr 15) it hadn't been mentioned. The article/ post you reference was (Apr 29). The last original post on the Internet was by Al Gore, March 1999.

has surface 3 enticed you to skip sp3-4 ??

Everyone has different wants and needs when it comes to computing. I have a hard time understanding why we try to justify our purchases by asking how others satisfy their requirements. To answer your question though: YES. I travel by motorcycle and compute on the go. I have a SP2 and I am...

    Anandtech review up

Not necessarily; the stock charger is about the same (13W) as almost every phone charger I have 5V / 2.4A (12W); the same output as my external batteries . Even my Apple chargers are 12W.

    charge with cellphone charger?

To me it's the opposite; the proprietary connection is one of the the biggest disadvantage of the SP and MBA on the road. The magnetic cable on my SP and MBA has never saved either, and my Android tablets, used plugged in at desk, on the bed and couch have never been damaged by a pulled cord.

    LTE or not LTE?

Some but not all: Will Surface 3 4G LTE be able to connect to 3G networks? When I need the broadband most on the road with my Nokia 2510 LTE the only networks available are 3G (Verizon) which the tablet won't connect so I end up tethering to my phone anyway.

.... but you can't argue "STANDARD" :D. The times I need to run off a battery most I am a long walk from a wall socket. I don't care how long it takes to charge as long as I can run it from a vehicle battery or external battery while it charges using standard accessories. Everyone has...

    From 4 to 7 hours

Since the discussion is about battery, the one point that makes the Surface 3 so attractive to me hasn't even been mentioned yet - it is charged and powered from a STANDARD micro port. I have many 12+watt phone-tablet chargers and several external batteries that I use to charge my phone and...

Has the surface totally replaced your tablet?

Has the surface totally replaced your tablet?

I still use my tablet as much as I did prior to my Surface. Either my Nexus 7 or 9 still goes with me everywhere; my Surface has pretty much replaced my Laptop.

    Surface Pro 4 news

Not quite, went to the site and the best I could get for the best Surface Pro 2 was more like the $350 range. To get the "up to $650" you have to trade your old Surface Pro 3 on a new Surface Pro 3. http://microsoftsurfacetrade.cexchange.com/online/home/index.rails

help! Part confirm for cracked Surface Pro 2 Screen

...... and on the flip side, if it's already broken, you don't have much to lose by trying, and some might find it enjoyable or learn something useful by attempting to "fixit". There's a very wide range of individual capabilities, as well as desire, to tinker; authorized service centers and...

    Browsers and Battery Life-

Think I'll go turn on all my incandescent lights, get a cold beer, and watch the tides rise on three monitors of Google Chrome ..... I'd expect this drivel on MacRumors PRSi (Politics, Religion, Social Issues) ......:D

Has Chrome just been optimised far better?

I disagree; it's a cross platform browser; which IE isn't. If I could use IE as my browser on Android (phone and tablet), Mac, as well my Windows platform (which I use at best 30% of the time), I might agree. Yes, I know cross platform RemoteIE is available on the cloud; talk about vastly...

    installing 8.1 on SAT help

GREAT, I'd probably start shopping for at least a 120GB SSD, prices are getting very reasonable. Samsung 840 EVO in the $80-90 range.

    installing 8.1 on SAT help

Don't take this in the wrong way, but you don't mention the make and model of your laptop. There are forums for most computer manufacturers and models; that's where I'd start.

Windows 10 on Surface Pro 2

Last build, 9879 broke everything for me. Random restarts, sometimes won't boot, won't wake up. Went back to 8.1 and will wait for the ready for prime time edition. :)
