Yeah, I have the same issues with the dock. The mouse and keyboard become unresponsive for 5-10 seconds and then will come back again. Once it starts happening it can occur every couple of minutes until I restart.

I always use the type cover and have found that if I just push it down a little bit firm when connecting the dock I get a proper connection.

I have this issue on and off. Have you tried connecting without the type cover? With it connected I find I have to use a little force to push the surface down into the dock while 'docking'
