Bamboo Paper released, free tool upgrades for a limited time

Just installed both Paper and Pages and they open fine on my SP2. What are the free tools? An additional download?

Surface pro I5 256 metro freeze?

    Mine doesn't exhibit that behavior.

    SP3 and Civ 5 question

I have the i5 4300u SP2 and Civ5 plays as well on that as it does on my 15" MBP (although once in a while it has some graphics glitches...barbarians moving two tiles disappear from the center of the screen then shoot in from the right side of the screen). I'm curious why the SP3 would be slower.

    NewsgroupsRT - usenet client

I have several usenet accounts (one unlimited, two block) but that's almost exclusively for SABnzbd/sickbeard/couchpotato use. On my OSX systems, if I'm feeling like actually reading newsgroups, I use Colloquy. It hadn't occurred to me to find a client for Win8 and the SP2. Hrmm. Usenet, back...

When unplugged, my SP3 often turns off when it should sleep

FWIW, my SP2 has recently started doing this. Just in the last couple of weeks.

    Turn Screen Off Without Sleeping?

You can set your power options to not sleep/hibernate and use something like monoff to shut down just the display. I was doing that while streaming TuneIn via desktop browser before I thought to see if there was a TuneIn metro app.

    The time is now

After my failed install, I followed the steps from the December 'recovery' process. The firmware update still isn't showing for me, either.

    Bluestacks

I have bluestacks on my SP2. The first time I installed it I couldn't get past the registration screen for Google. I deleted it and then re-installed it a couple days later and it works sort-of OK. The only screen that comes up is the app screen and it keeps telling me it's installing mandatory...

What's up with the resolution of the internet browsers?

That is an artifact from changes to DPI scaling in Windows 8.1. If you go in to the display settings and then in to "make text and other items larger or smaller" you can enabled the "let me select one setting..." option and it should resolve the issue. At least it did for me; although I also...

    New Wacom Feel Driver

One last question before I hit "Buy"...does it have better accuracy than the stock stylus? That millimeter or so offset around the edges is annoying. OK, two questions...does it come with it's own drivers like the Feel does, or does it just use the standard Windows drivers? Thanks for the "in...

Windows VM on Surface Pro 2 128GB (4GB RAM) version possible?

I'm running a Windows 7 64-bit VM off a 64GB C10/U1 microSD card via VMWare Workstation. It's slow to start (combination of running off the SD card, I think, and the fact that the VM is an enterprise build from work and the hard drive is encrypted, coupled with the fantastic amount of bloated...

Help using Photoshop CC and NIK (google) phot editing software

The only issue I have was that I downloaded the NIK trial from Google and it will not install on my SP2.

    New Wacom Feel Driver

I just want to confirm: that stylus has an eraser function like the stock stylus, correct? I was going to pick up the Feel stylus, but no eraser is problematic for me.

Three questions (Why did MS do these things?)

On my SP2 with Type 2 cover, it sleeps almost as soon as the cover is closed. It will wake if I hit the enter key (after the backlights come on) or if I hit the power button. Every once in a while, though, the enter key doesn't work and when I use the power button to wake it, the Type 2 cover is...

Out of curiosity, what was the fix?

Which Stylus For Surface Pro Do You Like Best?

I was taking notes in OneNote in a meeting the other day when the nib suddenly seemed shorter. It was weird; one minute I was writing, stopped to make a couple of comments, started writing again and I swear the nib was about 1mm shorter (the part outside the barrel). Still works, though. At any...

Using Logitech Ultrathin T630 Mouse with SP2

Ah. l didn't know the Arc SE had haptics for scrolling. Maybe it's a good thing I changed my mind at the checkout and went for the T630 after all.

Using Logitech Ultrathin T630 Mouse with SP2

Weird. My T630 makes a very audible, mechanical click when pressed down. It's actually somewhat annoying (first world problem, I know).

    I can't wait!

I was intrigued by that write up and went and looked at Manga Studio. It looks like you can buy Manga Studio 5 on sale right now for $48, then upgrade to the EX version for $105, representing a total outlay of about $155. The outright purchase price (on sale) of Manga Studio 5 EX is $210. Weird...
