    Microsoft Surface Developmet

Does OpenGL work with Windows 8? RT? I seem to remember reading it was going to be deprecated but, hope the story was wrong.

    IE Metro

Amazon is particulary disappointing. They heavily promote Android but don't understand touch on their own site. Worse for us, problems with their Windows 8 apps gets you tossed into a sewer with support staff that doesn't know there is anything but Android in the world. :/

    Mount Micro SDXC Card

you're right. it should be better. it should be automatic and should work universally. its my understanding windows will automatically index files from "fixed" media even if it is usb. thus the question. can windows be fooled into looking at the micro sd as fixed media? Microsoft should stop...

    Mount Micro SDXC Card

yeah. yeah. sure. sure. Been there; done that. problem is, it's not reliable. windows doesn't index the files without additional work. it should be automatic. it should be easier.

    Mount Micro SDXC Card

It seems, to me at least, that mounting an SD card as "removable" media rather than as a drive seems arbitrary. Why is it that a USB Flash "stick" is mounted as a drive (most of the time) and a card mounted as removable? Many people use the two interchangeably. If we were able to mount the Micro...

    Better Music App Than XBOX?

I could not disagree more. As a Zune user, the Xbox Music app is an abomination. At one time iTunes for Windows was the worst media player. Now, Xbox has eclipsed iTunes. The user interface is barely half way done. Scrolling through hundreds of albums is clunky. Not being able to find my media...

    Why Do Reviwers Do This?

It's simple. They have very little real life experience and can't think of anything that happened before they discovered AOL in 1995. There are too many tech bloggers who don't really know tech. They aren't engineers. They haven't a clue how this stuff works and worse have no point of reference...

    Screen protector with privacy feature

I was sitting in a random fast food restaurant a few years ago and the people in the next booth were talking about customer problems and difficulties with a product they were selling. Turns out they were competitors to my company and I overheard things they probably didn't want my company to...

    unable to download apps

According to Mary Jo Foley on Windows Weekly, this is a known problem and Microsoft is working on it. Expect a fix on "Update Tuesday". For now, and as others have suggested, you can run wsreset.exe by selecting Search from the Start Screen, Type wsreset, and tap the icon. Your screen will...

    Should We Be Concerned?

I'm not concerned with what ACER has to say about anything. Their build quality is ... weak. Samsung is a rogue that got stung with Windows Phone 7 and may not want to play in a restrictive game like Windows RT. Microsoft has changed the way they develop product with shorter lead times and more...

    SD Card Format

I'm using a SanDisk 64G SDXC card. SDXC cards are formatted exFAT by the manufacturer. I'm using mine as is and it seems to work well after attaching it to the file system. I wonder, though if it wouldn't work better formatted to NTFS. Has anyone done any performance testing with exFAT vs NTFS?
