In the last decade, I have never owned a portable device that outlived its battery. Even my MBP from March of 2011 that I charge daily shows capacity of over 85%, and thats almost 3 years of heavy use. I wouldn't worry about battery longevity of SP2 at all. IMHO.

I would like to see i7, pen storage, another USB 3.0, maybe full SD slot instead of micro, and of course even better battery life, but mostly fix the software glitches, and update ALL of windows for high DPI screen. Hate seeing all the admin tools fuzzy, etc. Other than that, love the device.

I used the same program. Balanced mode, 30% brightness, surfing web, playing some YouTube, xbox music in the background about half the time, I lasted 7:32 hours to under 10%. Loving it.

I need to join the Mac trackpad lovefest - big fan! Combined with the consistent multiple gestures it makes it really hard to go back to a typical Windows PC. Having said that, I think that touch is the future of Windows and especially on a device the size of SP it makes a touchpad less necessary.

Unfortunately you can't wake up SP2 by opening the cover, as a Haswell architecture does not have that capability unlike ARM.
