Surface Pro 4 Signature Type Cover - New

You know, that ad would have been ok upon release of the SP4 but many months later when the device itself has plenty of problems......bleh. Not a good look in my opinion.

    New SP4 firmware out

I can't really say I notice a big difference between the new firmware and what it was before, at this point I guess it is what it is. If you're someone who feels the need to have a "full PC" in a tablet form factor, you're probably going to tinker/deal with the SP4 enough to make it work. If...

Get Surface Pro 4 or wait for Surface Pro 5 or iPad Pro

It really just depends on what you want to do with the device, and what your expectations are of its use/reliability. If your N-E-E-D above all else is a full PC with Windows programs/functionality, then you get a Surface Pro. If that is more of a "Well it would be nice, but it's not a...

    Battery Drain ?

These things have battery drain issues....that's just how it is right now. Hopefully it's fixed in the near future, MS has stated they will be releasing an update for it.

Why is MS disabling the power cover ?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say "MS" is not reading your post. Anyway....business decisions are made quite frequently that aren't in the 100% best interest of every single consumer that has ever bought a product from X company. If it bothers you that much, stop buying things from them...

    Sleep or Shut Down?

Well shut down you just shut it down instead of doing nothing, and hibernate is in the power options. You can tell it to hibernate after X minutes.

    Sleep or Shut Down?

Sleep is borked on these things. Shut it down or use hibernate.

sp4 no type cover response after waking most times.

Yep, I've seen it happen on multiple different sp4's. One more bug for the pile.

What does everyone use their surface or 4 - for?

Judging by the bulk of the posts here I'd say most people use it as a way to increase their PC troubleshooting skills.

How I Got More Bang-for-the-Buck out of Surface 3

I'm happy that you're happy, but I think you're exaggerating the "value" you're getting out of that $1,200 a little bit.

    SP4 M3 vs. SP4 i5 - My Own Battery Life Face Off

This thread is a really, really good example of the fundamental problems these devices have. I mean......it shouldn't be difficult to compare battery life.

    SP4 M3 vs. SP4 i5 - My Own Battery Life Face Off

I'm not sure 2 reasons qualifies as "plenty," but whatever. The battery life isn't that significantly better (as is shown above) and if not having a fan is that important to you then I'm not sure a device running full Windows in this form factor is a good allocation of money to begin with...

20% per hour battery drain with light useage. Normal?

The whole battery life/drain situation continues to be the reason why I just can't make a Surface Pro my main mobile device. I get it; it's an i5/i7 full PC running full Windows and therefore it's obviously not going to get the battery life of an iPad. I understand. But I still just can't...

    SP4 M3 vs. SP4 i5 - My Own Battery Life Face Off

I don't think there's really anything else you need to do beyond what you're showing there; it's probably what should be expected. It's not like you're going to get an extra 2 or 3 hours out of it consistently, if ever. The M3 is better, but not better enough to make it a be-all-end-all...

Microsoft issues apology for Surface issues

I tried both a Surface Pro 4 and a Surface Book, and experienced pretty much every single "typical" complaint I've seen in the forums about both devices. GPU crashes, type cover not working when waking from sleep, overall sleep drain problems, everything. In the end all of the problems were...

IPAD "Pro" is it a Joke?

It's improperly named, but it's a very nice device. Really it just depends on what your NEEDS are for your "mobile" device. If you absolutely positively need the extra functionality that you get out of a full PC, then you should get a Surface Pro. But if those are things that would just be...

Just got my Surface Book! Some issues but still positive experience

Both are disabled and have been since the day I got it. I think there is also a problem with disabling Connected Standby and the Wi-Fi connection properly turning back on when waking from Sleep. After a few more times yes, Wi-Fi definitely has an issue with connecting after waking from sleep...

Just got my Surface Book! Some issues but still positive experience

The battery drain during hibernate/sleep is my biggest issue with the device thus far. I guess I'm just kind of baffled as to how it can drain that much when it's "sleeping" or whatever. I guess I should just turn off Connected Standby as I don't really care about it anyway. But overall I...

many problems with new surface pro 4

I got rid of mine; just not worth the problems for me personally. I mean I understand if you're someone who travels a lot, NEEDS a portable laptop, etc. This device would be important to you and you will want to make it work and find ways to manage it as the device serves a big purpose to...

After TH2 Update: Battery drain /battery life in sleep mode much worse than before

Another problem; the wifi doesn't properly turn back on if you set it to turn off while going into hibernate. I always have to click the icon at the bottom right to basically turn it back on again.
