Not impressed with the Type Cover

    Ditto.

Weird camera shutter noise on start up and shutdown

Weird. I don't hear anything like that. Maybe I'm not listening close enough.

Who is getting one? Why or Why not?

Probably returning my Go before the 30 day return period runs so I can get an LTE after they are announced on October second. Microsoft should just let us that were within the 30 day window of the LTE release just upgrade when they arrive by paying the extra $$ for the LTE.

Who is getting one? Why or Why not?

I was hoping to wait for LTE, but my old Surface 3 started to give up the ghost. Now a proud owner of a 128/8GB Go. Love it!

Go Go Go ... The Go Reviews

It's been done. Here's my Surface 3 to compare it to. The eMMC in the Go is much faster than my S3's drive.

Who is getting one? Why or Why not?

I do all my work on an S3 and have for the past 3 years. I'm replacing my S3 with a Go as soon as I can get one with LTE. I intend to use it as my only computer. At work it will be docked to a 23" display, mouse and keyboard. The ability to use the Model 1661 dock was a significant factor in...

Will any of the review units be the 4/64GB model or all 8/128GB?

The Best Buy demo unit was a 64/4GB model with the eMMC. I had my S3 there to run some simple tests. It opens most office programs about as fast as the S3. Maybe a hair quicker. I'm looking forward to trying out a real SSD. Thank you Microsoft.

Welcome to the Microsoft Surface Go Forum

I'm waiting for LTE. Hope I don't have to wait too long. Enjoy yours.

    Surface Go section?

Will do. But I may wait for an LTE version. Wish MS would let us know how long it will take to get them to market.

    Surface Go section?

I can't wait to get mine. I've been waiting for something like this since I bought my Surface 3. I will run my office from this little device that could.

Surface 3 for $300. Worth it in 2018?

I run my entire practice on an S3 and have for the past 3 years. I have had no problems. I have a dock, full sized keyboard, mouse and 23" monitor for deskwork. The Atom is aging a bit but still performs okay for my needs.

i3 Surface Pro or Surface 3 for tablet use?

How about an M3 Mix 700? Microcenter has them for $399.

    It was a good run...

Yea ... the article was generally nonsense. Particularly the speculation that a new S4 might have an option for a U series CPU. What? The author obviously never owned an S3. Of Course, I would love to see a Surface 4 to replace my 3 sometime later this year. Core M and full speed SSD...

    It was a good run...

With production of the Atom ending at Cherry Trail and none of the Goldmont Pentiums or Celerons being able to adapt to the 2w SDP of the Surface 3, it makes sense to end the line. I don't see Microsoft letting the S3 have Core M power and competing with the SP4. I, for one, will not likely...

    Intel Atom - RIP?

I may be the only human being lamenting the demise of the lowly Atom. In only 5 years, small tablet devices have evolved from using single Atoms like the Z570 in the Slate 500 to the Quad Core Cherry Trial X7-Z8700 in the Surface 3 that was powerful enough to outperform the 10w SU9300 C2D in...

Belkin Neoprene Sleeve Case - Any Experiences?

I use a Maroo case, sold in the MS Store where I got my S3 a year ago. MR-MS3209 - Surface 3 - By Maroo The case has a pocket for the Surface pen and fits the S3 w/keyboard cover snugly, so the tablet doesn't move around inside. Fits nicely in my briefcase. It's as large as a leather...

Surface 3 one year later display problem

One year almost to the day (actually a few days past the anniversary), my display started showing a brown staining. The overall brightness also started to fade. Following Gus' advice, I spoke to the tech at my local MS Store and sent them this picture. They are exchanging for a replacement...

    Presentation Compatible?

The RAM is a big part of it. My last tablet was an Asus M80TA with 64 GB on the eMMC and 2GB RAM. 2GB was clearly not enough for my use as my RAM spent most of its active life in the red zone at 100% utilization. But, even on the eMMC, 64GB was very tight for the amount of software I use to...

Surface 3 or Surface Pro 4?

I run my entire business with an S3. At work, it's docked. I'm sure that there are a lot of applications that need Pro power, but not a general business use.

    Presentation Compatible?

1-8. An emphatic yes. Oh wait, you have 2 8's. No to the first and yes to the second. I do a fair amount of PowerPoint presentations. The only problem you are likely to encounter is the interface of the projector that is at your presentation location. Far too many conference rooms get set...
