I get your point. Anyway if you can afford an i5 model you should defently get one. Because you can't upgrade once you bought one. When you get outside the metro apps, i am sure you gonna use the power of the i5 :). 1 tip: Every euro/dollar is it worth to get one!

I bought mine SP3 i58gb ram because my friend had one. I needed an new laptop so was looking around. Still heard a lot of Surface Pro 3 but the tablet / laptop combination didn't get me. Until i used my friends one. I was sold! Nowadays i'm using my Surface Pro 3 everyday and is f*cking awesome!

I also use Office 2013 on my surface. Outlook is working fine! Check for some programs that makes use of Office. Maybe something blocks Outlook to work properly.

Send an mail to the support. Nobody can help u, or maybe we bring only more damage. You should send your Surface back so they can ran some test with it. How longer u stay with this problem to figure everything out. How more damage you do overtime to your Surface.

I won't tell you how to do it. But please don't give it even a try to do it. You need hyper threading even when you don't know. I will NOT recommend to do!

You got a point about Apple users being following their friends and have no own idea what they buy. But the fact a lot people took an iPhone 4 or 5 is the design. In my eyes that's an really great one. I never want to get used it because the price is never worth the hardware you get.
