Why the problem about a sealed battery and cost? I had computers for at least 20 years portables 6 tablets 4 and have never needed a battery. They are designed for 2 to 3 years life and if charged/discharged correctly will give that. If you need a bulky portable with battery buy one it will not...
I like to see Bigger 20 inch plus under arm surface for drawing etc. And smaller 8 inch for reading etc. Have Pro & RT what nice about RT is no fan and no viruses.
In Settings, Personalise, Backgrounds there are 20 Graphic backgrounds including the Wallpaper which is the last one.
As anyone found which folder they are stored in? and changed added their own?
My preference is the Robot one or No2 in first row.
What about the Nokia Tablet seen it in CEX shops and Cash Generators at good price £270 in Mint with box. Also Surface RT. in Cox at £210 Also what about the Toshiba 8 inch seen new at £149.
I think it's a excellent design but all Surfaces 1,2 and 3 & Rt should have had at least 2 USB ports built in. so at least you could copy from Camera Sd card to USB hard drive in one action. That's not a lot to ask for.
So you do have a made USB drive from your Surface? On mine I cannot get it to do a refresh from being powered down and booting from USB drive. (As I know from my frustration of trying to do it) But I can from advanced boot options and selecting USB drive myself.
It then goes off and resets to...
Surface RT is in a Incipio Capture Px inner shell with rubber outer shell with rear hand grip or a blanking plate. This goes in a Incase terra sleeve for padding of screen when traveling. (Incipio from Amazon UK £38. Incase from TKMax £4)
Surface Pro with Touch 2 (when not a desktop computer)...
Have a OQO 01+ tablet PC (Still fully working and a work of art build wise just like the Surface Pro)
Anyway reading about replacement pens got my pen out and it works also side button press functions as well.
Some of you might have old OQO so at least pen is useful and small.
Works on...
As a comparison of price difference last week Amazon UK bought USB 3 Samsung 2TB Self powered HD £75. SanDisk 64gb hs10. £27. All music pictures from past years on HD. All current files stored to SD and OneDrive.
I think the recovery area of the Solid State drive 64GB which is about 7.4GB area is corrupted. This would cause the condition when you do a USB recovery. I had a similar problem but caused because I deleted the area after making the recovery drive. When not their a certain recovery cannot be...
I could send you the files on my recovery disk over the internet. you would then need to create a bootable USB stick then add files. MS help some were do show how to do it.
The cost was higher 10 years ago to assemble a PC. A Tablet if broken down is just a signal double sided printed circuit board with a small screen. and a small casing. No DVD, No keyboard. I think the Surface RT is priced at correct level. Pro 3 is 25% overpriced.
Looking at what you get for your $£ today we are being Rip off.
Looking back at my Acer Laptop 2004 ten years ago. Runs windows 8.1 now and still running.
It had Pentium 4 3.4g 2gb memory. 17inch screen.
DVD writer.
3 speakers inc sub bass.
But its the I\O ports that are to die for:-...
The other way would be to go to shop selling them and make a USB Disk from a showroom Surface.
I had it were with some updates and both RT and Pro it goes as I say heavy sleep mode.
Doing a Volume UP and Power On and hold both buttons for at least 10 seconds seems to wake it up.
No I will not upgrade to me its a backward step. Bigger screen why? defeats the object small is beautiful.
Now if Microsoft put this screen in the original Surface 1 & 2 case that would be progress. You do not need the black bezel around screen.
If I need a big screen I use my Laptop or...
No good saying I wished I waited for the latest. If you buy the Surface 3 there will be a 4 this time next year. Best to buy trade in like me. Surface Rt 64. £120 mint boxed including keypad. Old phone plus HTC tablet traded in. Think of it for another year Microsoft are still interested in the...
Been a Surface RT 64 Version 1 user from last September. Bought mint second hand one by trading in my HTC Tablet and old smartphone at a CEX exchange shop.
This made the cost more easy to justify.
Now bought a new Surface Pro 64 from the Windows Store 4 weeks ago on the Easter deal. Its...
