Mine bleeds a little as well while booting. It doesn't bother me at all though. When the screen is on I cant tell so no problem here. Does everything else work correctly? If so just enjoy using it and don't let the little things that are common worry you.

I have the touch cover and really like it. Using it as a cover really is comfortable too. A co-worker at my office has the type version and when you fold it back to use as a tablet the buttons feel weird when you hold the surface verses the flat surface of the touch cover.
