What software are you using? 30% CPU will start the fan. Sounds like Chrome.

Have you calibrated your battery? You should run it down until the device shuts off and then charge it fully without using it. If you haven't done this yet in the 15 days you have owned the device, you might even have to do it twice. Honestly, I've written this so many times now that someone...

Yes, the i3 will be significantly better than your RT. The main reasons you would want the new Type Cover are because it fits the screen properly, the trackpad is bigger and better, and it has the new magnets to elevate the top of the keyboard - like unfolding the tabs beneath a desktop keyboard.

Or at least 4.3. I am impressed with how it runs, but 4.3 is pretty much the minimum these days if you want to run any recent apps.
