    Gaming Benchmarks

Doesn't look too bad. I don't own Blacklist, but I have Conviction. Hard to tell how stable/smooth it is. Guessing high 20s / low 30s, lower in the cutscenes. I'd guess lower but he seems to be managing the gameplay alright. I think I'll give Conviction a try. The Deniable Ops mode is a...

    Pro?

I very much doubt "flagship" is the right word. My guess is that people buying the Pro/Pro 2 likely care less about cameras than people buying an RT. I don't care about the cameras at all, they may as well not even be there. While for me they weren't a selling point, someone who just wants "a...

    Gaming Benchmarks

I used the Type Cover during these tests, mostly because I don't have a space cleared off to set the surface up proper yet. I don't recommend gaming with the Type Cover. It's working fine, but if the chips were down I wouldn't trust myself to not miss keys. I mostly have problems with hitting...

    Gaming Benchmarks

I have a desktop. With an i7 3770k, 660Ti, and 16GB of memory. You think I just had all these games lying around in case I got a computer to run them on? I didn't buy the Surface Pro 2 for games, but it'll be nice to use it for games.

4GB or 8GB RAM really make a difference?

I doubt you'll need 8GB when doing normal tablet stuff and web browsing. Even with lots of tabs 4GB is fine. Even most games don't have much demand of raw memory. CPU/GPU juice matters much more. I still recommend getting the 8GB memory variants if you can spring for them. I say this only...

    Gaming Benchmarks

My Pro 2 256GB came in today. Being a big time gamer, I'm going to test a few of my current favorites and write a short blurb about how they performed, and what settings I was using. I have installed all updates for both the games and the Surface itself, including a firmware update for the...

HELP how do I just create a LOCAL account from the GET-GO?

When it's asking to you make/sign in with a MS account, there is a link at the bottom to "Sign in without a Microsoft account". If it doesn't show up, you can force local account instead by declining to connect to your wifi during setup.

OH Y E A H my credit card was charged sp2 on the way.....

Ordered two SP2 256, and two Type Cover 2s of different colors. I got three tracking numbers. One for each surface, and one for one of the type covers. What are people weights on their type cover packages? Hoping they just bundled both type covers into one box.

OH Y E A H my credit card was charged sp2 on the way.....

EDIT: False alarm. My tracking just updated, and my two SP2s 256 are in Louisville, KY. UPS considers them "On Time" and scheduled to be delivered today by 3pm.

OH Y E A H my credit card was charged sp2 on the way.....

Same. My type covers say they came from CA, but their first point of contact in UPS was in KY.

My two have not yet. Type Covers show as moving about, but SP2s still say "Ready for UPS".

Personal Review of Surface Pro 2

I'm very interested in this as well. I play to do some light gaming on mine, and I'm curious just how light I'll have to keep it. Want to run at least Diablo III and WoW on it. I also plan to do some development in Unity/Visual Studio, and it'd be really sweet if the SP2 was up to the task.

OH Y E A H my credit card was charged sp2 on the way.....

Me and my girlfriend each ordered a SP2 and type cover. We have tracking numbers for all of them, and the type covers look like they're coming from KY. The SP2's tracking hasn't updated to show the progress yet. Where was the origin for you people that have working tracking? Kind of on pins...

    Surface touch cover trade-up discount?

Old iOS devices have value, and can be sold wholesale to refurbishment joints that make money reselling them or scrapping them for parts. I doubt the same could be done with old Surface keyboards. Maybe they could do it as a thanks to people who took the plunge and early adopted.
