    Potential First Time Owner

It is very nearly instant. Even waking from hibernation like three seconds, and raw cold boot is like five.

    SP2 Screen Flicker

Do you have a link to the drivers that install on the sp2? I tried and it says they're not verified for this machine.

128 GB Surface Pro Memory Problems

I get that too, and mine is the 256gb/8gb ram model. I also get it on my desktop sometimes, which has 16gb of memory, since upgrading to 8.1. I think it's just 8.1 being overprotective. I just hit cancel and keep on.

    Potential First Time Owner

I have mine set to "do nothing" when I close the lid, and the screen stays on when I close the type cover. Are you sure the screen is turning off on yours? I can peek in the gap and see the screen is still on. Maybe the backlight on yours just autoadjusts to a very low level? Do you have any...

    Pro?

Metro is nice, but it's nice on a tablet. I wouldn't want to use it as a development or business platform. Microsoft believes this as well. Where's metro visual studio? Where's metro Office? Even on an RT, Office is on the desktop. What about gaming? NVidia and AMD rely on Windows to make...

Setting it to "Do Nothing" and then closing the cover does not turn the display off. Just tested it.

    Potential First Time Owner

You can run metro music apps in the background, and they'll keep playing while they are off-screen. You can even use the media keys or controls on Bluetooth devices to control them while they're out of sight. You even get a transparent overlay showing the current track and volume, skip/pause...

Mine is a little odd near the top corners but looks good elsewhere.

Anyone else get the old Pro charger with their Pro 2?

Is there an issue with the old charger design when used with a new Surface? I didn't even know this problem existed. It looks like I have the old charger too, though it charges the surface quickly. I ran mine down playing/testing games and it charged it to full in around two and a half hours.

    Pro?

On this, I disagree wholeheartedly. I do game development, pretty much all day every day. I need Unity open. I need Visual Studio open. I need to be able to modify Visual Studio with Resharper. I need to keep a browser on screen with many tabs. I need to be on Skype and be able to see the...

    Pro?

I guess disappointing is also not the right word. It's just that I personally wouldn't be able to get by with an RT based device, so I guess I have a difficult time seeing how other people could. Perhaps it's a failing on my part and not Microsoft's. So long as there's always a "Pro" option.

Surface 2 is superior to Surface Pro 2, except for one big thing

I don't see why this is impressive. This doesn't look any different than using a capacitive stylus with any other tablet that uses a capacitive screen. I can use one of those with my ancient iPhone 2G if I dug it out of the closet. Pressure sensitivity is nice, but it's nowhere near as...

Anyone else get the old Pro charger with their Pro 2?

I didn't own an original Pro. Is there a picture of the old charger and new charger? I'm curious. The one that came in my box looks like the one on sale at the MS store now. Buy Surface 48W Power Supply with USB Charging Port - Microsoft Store

    Pro?

That's kind of disappointing. They need to come up with a better adjective than "Pro", because there's so much more than "work" that it brings to the table.
