You should end up with an iCloud specific calendar in addition to your local 8.1 one. At least it does for me using the iCloud control panel that you can download from Apple. With that you can sync your bookmarks and pictures also if you want. Might be worth a try.

Thanks everyone for your comments. Quite a range of different answers depending on each persons individual preferences. Personally at this stage when I get the SP3 I still a reason to continue using the iPad at times. That opinion may change over time though.

A cover that magnetically attached to where the type cover attaches would be ok I'm sure. It's not like it would have the same functionality, and wouldn't have the electrical contacts of course. Folded over it would just cover the screen. I don't really think a full cover that covers the back...
