In Australia also. Can't hurt to call them. They can only refuse. The 14 days is mainly if you want a refund, so if it has an issue you can apply for a normal exchange under warranty. Means doing without one for a while though. No advanced replacement here apparently.

Where did you get lot 1436? MS store AU? How's the screen on that one? That's the latest I've seen and manufactured a week ago. I received a lot 1432 on the release day in Australia but sent it back for a refund with a screen issue. Waiting to purchase again once refunded.

Takes longer but if your in the refund period and your dealing with the MS store I think your better getting a refund and re purchasing. You get another refund period and your guaranteed to receive a new SP3. We do have a couple of retail stores in Australia selling the Surfaces, but no MS stores.

Can't see it in your photo but it's probably the same problem I had on mine. I returned mine to Microsoft. Other that returning it for another there's nothing else you can do as it's a hardware problem. It can't be cleaned off. I tried also.

I think the same as the MS store Australia purchasing in the UK MS store gives the option to return for a refund over 14 days if your not happy with the purchase for any reason what so ever. Not sure if a retail store gives you the same 14 days. Worth checking. Either way of course you still...
