Exactly, this is why LTE tablets have never taken off. There is simply no valid case to the every day consumer. Buy an additional contract, or just use what you're already paying for. I even managed to go 2 years without having to pay for broadband by simply using my phone as a hotspot.

My partners sp3 and original type cover are working absolutely fine. No bricking here. But then it seems that hardware faults are completely hit and miss with surfaces . If it is related to the update though, I find it odd that a reinstall of a version prior to update wouldn't fix it.

I don't quite understand the question. If I wasn't excited about an upgrade then I wouldn't upgrade. At the same time, I'm not a businessman, so anything LTE equiped other than my phone is an utter waste of money :)

I imagine that the Asus monitor uses diplaylink? MS may be correct in that a monitor simply conencted via usb won't work, but if it is using displaylink technology, then they most certainly work, hence the number of people using a displaylink dock due to the value compared to the MS dock...

That's why I'm a touch confused. Mine is 30gb, and most of my apps are simply small things like VLC or drawboard. Having a look around, Microsoft alone takes up 10gb of AppData.

As above. That said, I think it entirely depends on how you use the device. Essentially the surface pro is a tablet, which can become a slightly compromised laptop ("lapability"), while the surface book is a laptop which can become a slightly compromised tablet (very poor battery life)
