Wired vs wireless headphones. Your preferences?

wired. I plug them in and they work, job done. I've had wireless headphones and speakers etc, and at some point I inevitably find them out of battery when I'm wanting to use them.

    Surface Pro 3 & 4 Smart cover

Personally, I wouldn't go near one for $50-60. For what it is, which is basically a screen protector, I'd expect to pay about $10/£10. I also fail to see the point in maing it "smart", even if it is just a couple of magnets. even with my typecovers I still just press the power button as windows...

Welcome to the Microsoft Surface Go Forum

I do rather miss being able to dress smart and wear my vintage watches to work, but I can't deny I like being in a kitchen :)

Welcome to the Microsoft Surface Go Forum

Must admit I'd love to replace my s3 with one, if not just for the hinge. Just can't quite justify it given my current profession gives me no reason to ever use any of my surface products anymore :(

New Surface Device Tomorrow? Looks like 6:00 AM Annoucement

Even though the surface pro seems to get very good battery life despite the hardware inside it? As it stands I can get between 7-8 hours of video playback on my S3, but more would be better (I'm a millenial, can't be without my screens, so occasionally take it out shooting with me and watch...

New Surface Device Tomorrow? Looks like 6:00 AM Annoucement

Very interesting. I've not really used my surfaces in over a year, but every time I pick up the S3 I remember why I still have it. Looking forward to seeing what they have to offer. Hopefully something with a stupendous battery life :)

    Instead of mouse and trackpad

I've tried it in the past. It's not a very pleasant experience on the whole due to the lag.

Any way around the "can't update bios unless battery is 40%

By "as-is" I assume you disclosed the battery issue,

opening lid does not activate screen

I also have to mash the type cover a bit before it'll be recognised and the machine will then wake up from sleep.

surface pro pen right / left button not working

I've had nothing but great customer service from Microsoft (always fastest to go via live chat on their website). If it is only 3 weeks old then simply contact them and say you want a replacement because it is faulty, as is you legal right.

surface pro pen right / left button not working

I have edited your thread, the "How to" prefix is reserved for guides and tutorials. I had such an issue with my original surface pro 3 pen. I contacted Microsoft, and they sent me a new one and I got to keep the old one. Strangely a month or so later, the faulty pen started working perfectly...

    Which pen

Both the original pen (SP3) and the newer one with a single button (sp4 onwards) work absolutely great across my surface devices.

Are there any SP5 models WITHOUT lightbleed?

nless the light bleed is incredibly bad, then in normal use you really won't notice it. Mine (SP4) has a small amount, and I notice it when it is booting up, because it's a big old black screen. The moment that it's logged in though, I wouldn't know it was there.

Surface 3 for $300. Worth it in 2018?

It certainly becomes more capable with those additions. On its own though, I just found that it was a little too cramped and slow for my uni work outside of the house. Not entirely pleasant to type on, or use the trackpad, and when you're writing an assignment and have 20 different tabs open for...

Surface 3 for $300. Worth it in 2018?

I agree. I consider the S3 to be a tablet that happens to be able to run windows, while the pro line is a fully fledged computer that happens to be able to function as a tablet. Anything beyond word and onenote and I'd not be using my S3. It would often struggle with a 1000 page PDF textbook...

Surface 3 for $300. Worth it in 2018?

While I don't know what they currently cost, I'd say that sounds expensive for the specification. Do you even need the LTE ability? I'd also go for the 128/4gb model if it is possible. Saying that, I used surfaces for university, and while I liked the portability of the S3, I left mine at home...

    Alcantara Worn

Welcome Haig, I can understand the frustration, but at the same time I would be expecting exactly that with a keyboard of that kind of material. I get rather sweaty hands, and it was that which put me off this cover, and stuck with the one I have. Have you tried cleaning it per the instructions...

Power Button Not Following Power Settings

Welcome to the forum. I've not experienced this with my sp4 at all. Beyond something software related (have you tried booting with a usb version of ubuntu etc to see if it is software or hardware) it might be possible that dirt or something has gotten underneath, and is effectively resulting in...

Has anyone solved the slow SSD issue on Surface Book 2?

The lack of response is probably more indicative of people not having encountered the issue, hence no "me too" or "solution" posts.

CHARGER SURFACE 4 vs SURFACE PRO 3, is the same??

Welcome. I may be wrong, but I think that the sp4 m3 uses a 24w charger, while the sp3 uses a 36w charger.
