    Sp3 latest update brought problems

I had WiFi sleep problems after the newest update. But it turns out I needed to do an additional reboot. Everything seems OK now. (If you haven't already) check your update history to see if your firmware update was "successfully installed" or is still "pending restart".

    Hearthstone Lag

I've noticed that Hearthstone runs much better with the newer Intel drivers (3960). Smooth at 1920x1440 (low) and temps stay in the 60s without the fan going completely nuts.

    SP3 as output for xbox360\ONE

Microsoft recently added an API in Win 8.1 for: Miracast Receive – exposes a set of Wi-Fi direct APIs for Independent Hardware Vendor (IHV) drivers or OEM drivers to develop Windows 32-bit applications that run on all supported x86-based or x64-based versions of Windows 8.1, enabling the...

    new intel driver

3960 is now on Intel's site: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?ProductID=3719&DwnldID=24348&lang=eng&iid=dc_rss I haven't installed them yet, but the Release notes mention the Outlook corruption: "Fixed an issue where display screen was corrupted while Using Microsoft Outlook*...

    Laptop & iPad -> SP3

Not sure if this is the same issue, but I had to install this MSU to get my pen button working with a custom Windows install: http://download.windowsupdate.com/d/msdownload/update/software/crup/2014/06/windows8.1-kb2968599-x64_de4ca043bf6ba84330fd96cb374e801071c4b8aa.msu See...

Docking Station Sp3 - some question again

I have two docking stations. One is running 2560x1600. The other is running 3840x2160. No problems with either. You don't need an adapter. Just make sure you are using good quality mDP->DP cables.

    Trouble outputting to 4K display

Just to clarify, the SP3 can drive a 4k display at 60Hz. But it does it using MST mode. You have 3 monitor buses to work with, each with a max ~3200x2000x60Hz. You can use two of those to drive a single 4k monitor @ 60Hz using a single DP1.2 cable. You then have one bus left over which you could...

    Trouble outputting to 4K display

Make sure your monitor is in MST mode, not SST. MST will make the screen appear as two half-size screens. The newest Intel drivers will then combine those into one big screen. At 60Hz, I believe the mobile i5/i7 cannot drive more than 3200x2000 per screen, which is why single screen mode will...

Connected Standby - Confused Out of My Mind

I have before and could certainly run it again. What would I be looking for? I also have plenty of crash dumps that I've forwarded to MS, but have never heard back.

Connected Standby - Confused Out of My Mind

Unfortunately, no. Sleep is still connected standby (which routinely crashes my machine).

Which chipset drivers are you using?

Surface Pro 3 Dock mini display port STILL not working

The HDMI adapters you linked are passive. The DVI appears to be active.

SP3 works with 4k monitors, just not at 60hz

If you have an MST monitor, the newest Intel drivers work at 60Hz.

Post Your SP3 Docking Station Issues Here

Cable length is definitely a factor. I'm guessing the dock is not quite up to spec. I had to switch to a 3ft cable to drive my 4k monitor @ 60Hz, but 6ft worked fine directly into the SP3.

    Keeping SP3 from sleeping

Agree that it's very annoying you can't have the screen turn off without going into standby. Might be OK if you are only running Metro apps since they theoretically maintain connectivity and get to run in small slivers of time. But if you run desktop apps, you are screwed. For now, when I'm...

Surface Pro 3 Dock mini display port STILL not working

It's possible the SP3 port is dual mode (DP++), while the dock is only DP. If that's true, you would need an "active" DP->DVI or DP->HDMI cable (not just a passive cable) to use the dock, while passive cables would work with the SP3 itself.

    New Intel HD Driver

Yes, works great for 3840x2160 @ 60Hz. But I doubt SST monitors would work. Unfortunately the DDI interface on the i5-4300U in the SP3 maxes out at 3200 x 2000 @ 60 Hz per display. From a hardware perspective, in MST mode, the UHD display is treated as two 1920x2160 displays, which each fall...

    Solved auto restart while sleep

I have the same issue with ESET EndPoint Antivirus 5.0.2228.1. Unfortunately I cannot remove it due to IT policy. Does anyone know if ESET is aware of the issue or perhaps whether a newer version fixes the issue? EDIT: I disabled ESET and still have crashes during standby. So looks like it's...

    New Intel HD Driver

FYI, this driver works for my Dell UP3214Q @ 60Hz. Finally proper UHD MST support! (Previously the SP3 would recognize the display as two separate screens at half res in DP1.2 mode or the full display at half refresh using DP1.1 mode.)
