Does anyone here use Solid Works on their Surface Pro?

I use Lightwave3D and the entire Adobe Creative suite on my SP. However, I needed to create a new user account with the scaling set to 100% (instead of using the preset default). This was needed to "move" properly in 3D space. Any amount of Desktop Scaling seems to cause problems with keyboard...

    No built in stylus holder?

Your earlier predictions of failure have failed. I suspect the only one who will continue to fail (regarding anything concerning this platform) is you. Thankfully, no one has chosen you to lead the MS marketing team.

    No built in stylus holder?

Coulda been great??? This coming from the guy who swore MS would never make an SP2? This form-factor is here to stay for a while. And my SP1 has completely replaced my laptops.

Former Apple Fanboy Arrives, Seeks Peace

I agree. There are times when typing simply doesn't cut it. Hence the need for ledgers and notebooks. Drawing an arrow in your notebook to insert additional ideas in previously recorded remarks, drawing flowcharts, drafting relationships, drawing tables and cells, copying calculations and...

Microsoft Officially Unveils New Surface Pro 2

Exactly. My SP is only 2 months old and it Rocks. Personally, I'm glad MS crushed this one. I'm impressed with the specs for v2. However, I will wait until the SP3 or SP4 before upgrading though.

Microsoft Holding Surface 2 Event on September 23rd in New York City

Exactly right ^ Right now the surface is a fantastic deal for everything it does.

Surface Pro 2 - Who's Waiting for It?

^ This. My SP is the first tablet that didn't require me to find a "work-around." So far I haven't found anything out there that can replace the awesomeness that is my SP, except an SP with a longer battery life.

Former Apple Fanboy Arrives, Seeks Peace

I use OneNote and then use OCR when I'm done. I just chug along until I'm done chugging. This stylus and SP2-tablet is KING during meetings and I was able to finally toss the ledgers and multiple notebook/stickies

Wow, no agenda here lol! Good find!

    Hot hot hot

My SP doesn't get any hotter to the touch than my iPad 3. Though they can both get pretty toasty if you have them plugged in and charging AND playing videos or graphically intensive games.

    USB 3.0 Display

I agree. I don't see why anyone would skip over the SP's supplied versatile video DP for a USB port when gaming. The Display Port works exceptionally well, and if you don't have a port extender, the single USB 3 allows you to use the touch capability of your external monitor with the SP (if...

Next gen Surface in testing !!!

Oh absolutely. As far as I've been told, the SP was far outselling the RT until they dropped the RT's price. Truth be told, the DC area is all about business, so there were far more businessmen looking for ultrabook replacements than there were people looking for a "tablet" that can do office...

    Your upgrade cycle...

I feel the same way. The need to upgrade continues to decrease with each new purchase. I upgrade my gear based on it's ability to perform well on the programs I use most. I won't upgrade or buy something in order to play a game, but I will upgrade if updates to programs like Painter or...

    If you were starting over...

If I had to do it again, I would absolutely buy this device! So far, it has become the "no limitations tablet" I can work on my school projects, my work projects, game, watch TV, and sketch on it. I'm a fan for the near future and I'm looking forward to the SP2.

Brand new surface pro with blacklight bleeding

That's got to be it. I displayed a black image and bumped the brightness up to 100% and got a very small amount of bleed (however, it was much smaller than the amount of bleed I get on the boot screen, which is still weird). I have my screen normally set to about 45-55% brightness kayzee...

Brand new surface pro with blacklight bleeding

It took a while to find a truly black video, so I simply used a black image I made in photoshop and none of these things can duplicate the bleed that pops up during the boot screen. So, I doubt bleed is an issue you need to worry about.

Brand new surface pro with blacklight bleeding

I actually just noticed mine only has bleed on boot (it looks like the OPs). No wonder it doesn't bother me during normal operation.

First hour with Surface Pro: It turned off alone and now It doesn't turn on!

Yeah, it's a bug. I had the same scare during my first week. Sleep seems to get confused, and when it does, it can be frustrating. Hopefully this will be fixed soon.

    Netflix buffer

I have had several odd experiences with Netflix. Sometimes I have problems with the buffer even when I have a very strong connection. I rarely have a signal drop or buffer problems when I swap programs, but I have had spotty performance with Netflix on all of my wireless devices; iPad, Apple...

Brand new surface pro with blacklight bleeding

My first SP had very little bleed, but it had a dead pixel. The replacement (brand new) SP has similar bleed to yours. This is entirely normal with these types of screens, even my iPad 3 and all of my system monitors have some amount of backlight bleed . However, it shouldn't be noticeable...
