Consider yourself lucky. U have cpuz or task mgr, performance tab. Those of us with the known issue it will stay maxed within a few Mhz either way.

Yes to all , but your usb prolific adapter, make sure its real and not the knockoff clones. I prefer Ftdi muself. If it works on your current win 10, should be no issues on any other win 10 machine. For vm, watch drive space.

Ah yeah, common problem, roll back one of the drivers or switch to insider fast and get the update.

Quirk I noticed already. Not sure if it's a bug, working on duplication. After playing movie in chrome from Vudu, a system process goes high and stays hi and eats up cpu cycles. This could have been other things. Also, replying to forums in Chrome or Edge causes some screen flicker.

Installed, no issues for the last 2 1/2 hours so far. Of course, that's far to soon to evaluate.
