    Battery Degradation

Given up reading all the posts as there is a little to much of tit for tat arguments going on! As an electronics engineer let me give you some simple information. All rechargeable batteries need to be exercised. That is discharged and re charged. Old technology and to some extent even new...

How would you guys rate the onscreen keyboard compared to the type cover?

I use the on board keyboard, when in bed or for speed when out and about and unable to place the SP3 down. I use the typecover when I am in the motorhome, in the car, for speed when I am moving around and able to put the SP3 down. I use the Microsoft Wedge bluetooth Keyboard. When at my desk...

    Battery Degradation

Thank you Nipponham, Did a search and found this: Windows 8 includes a very useful feature for laptop users that lets you see the charging history and capacity of your battery. Over time batteries hold less and less of a change so this report is very helpful to identify if it is time to buy a...

Solved Overheating/Overworking/Fan on all the time SP3

Answered this one myself! I tested with an email, linked it to BCM, then deleted it from Outlook. Re booted Outlook and the emails where still in BCM! Good news! So I have now deleted the largest, oldest and more unknown archive folder and that is my 'deleted' folder. Looking better already...

Solved Overheating/Overworking/Fan on all the time SP3

Thanks for the input folks. Here is a question for you. I brought over my 100,000+ emails which are mainly in archives and then linked them to Business Contact Manager - BCM. A lot of those are in my Deleted folders inside the archives. It is important that I linked this because I used...

    SP3 Malware?

Hi gdir, Sorry, I cannot remember other than spotting something looked odd about it. I seem to recall some of it had the word 'shop' in it, but not all of them. I would click on a web page or a link in a web page and the screen would flash a few times, I spotted various things happening very...

    SP3 Malware?

Don't just blame yourself! When I got my SP3 I soon realised that Win 8.1 had at least one piece of advertising software. The removal of wbich added several other advertising software programmes! I first went to uninstall and spotted the software and uninstalled it. Not easy when it tries to...

Macgirl here, considering dumping my Mac and ipad for a SP3

Hi Greyfox, I shortened that as I was trying to wind up at the office. I have experienced the same problem with a £2,000 20" Acer laptop and a £2,600 IBM Thinkpad. So no apples and oranges there I'm afraid! My MPB came with a SSD and that was the first problem I had. Apple removed it and...

Macgirl here, considering dumping my Mac and ipad for a SP3

I am a Windows user because I have to be and find that every 12 - 24 months a laptop will give up on me. I have a policy of allowing up to a few hours to fix it. If I cannot, it gets replaced. Time is indeed money for me. Mac's by comparison go on for ever. I have: iMac 25" which I think is...

I just want to use my monitor

Hi all, Not read all of this thread, but have seen some of you are having problems with poor quality on an external monitor. I have the same monitor in my office and my study at home. I bought two HDMI adapters and to start with had fuzzy fonts ie poor quality on the monitors. Unlike any...

List of top 3 likes and dislikes about SP3

Yes, it turned out the installation of Windows 8.1 from new was corrupt. Once they found it, the Indian support quickly replaced it with a new install and it has been fine ever since. Regards Chris

    Car charger

Hi all, Two issues here. If, like me, you have a motorhome or perhaps a caravan then an inverter is a good idea, but it will cause more drain than a DC to DC power supply. However, as long as you keep an eye on your battery volts you should be OK. I also have a 100 Watt solar panel fitted...

    Hi from Devizes, Wiltshire, UK

Thanks for the welcomes. I have been using Maximizer a CRM database tool since it was a dos programme. The 15,000 contacts are in my business. In my short trials so far, I thoroughly recommend BCM. I also currently use Evernote as a day to day note taking tool. Moved to Evernote from...

    Hi from Devizes, Wiltshire, UK

Hi All, Found your site after searching to see if there was such a thing! What did we do before Google/Insert your favourite browser!! Decided to buy a Surface Pro as a replacement for yet another laptop that lasted not much more than a year before slowing to a grinding halt. In the end I...
