This worked for me and continues to work. I now always get the keyboard popping up. Only down side is that it pops up even when using even when using the cover keyboard. But I can live with it. Thanks

My pen wont even open one note so you should feel lucky. All i get is the login screen. If I am logged in, I get the desktop

I hate that loss of functionality. My pen top takes me to the login screen now, not one note. when I am logged in, it takes me to one note. I miss the swipe down quick access to the camera app too. I wish MS would have put more thought into this win10/surface thing. The upgrade ripped us off.

I use Drawboard that came with my surface to annotate pdf's. Have you tried that?

I have the cover. It is great for protecting the screen when I transport it in my bag. It is nice to have it sometimes. As an example, trying to respond to a IM on Facebook is near impossible using the pop up keyboard without reducing the web page. And filling in forms where the keyboard covers...

Turbo4AWD is correct, but I highlighted the speaker/headphone icon on the playback tab and hit the properties button on the lower right hand side. This brought up the property sheet with the advanced tab. Turbo4AWD, thanks for the answer, I was traveling and unable to get online.

I turned off enable audio enhancements on the speaker and headphones property sheet under sound in the control panel and my sound is fine now. That was causing problems anytime I streamed youtube.

I cannot shut off the ripple effect when using the pen. Does anyone have any idea how to do that? I did not have the problem in win 8, but since the win 10 upgrade it seems to be more noticeable. It's easy using a Wacom tablet but I do not know how using the Microsoft N-trig pen.

I find a loss of functionality under Win 10. The are just little things but annoying. One Note no longer opens with the pen if I am logged out. I get a login screen instead of a note page. Swipe down from the lock screen to access the camera is gone. Now I have to log in and find the camera...

I did the win 10 update and so far everything is OK. The update was rather painless and took less than an hour. There were little bugs along the way. I switched over to Chrome as my browser but everything else is Microsoft. I do not like the mail app. I have to go looking for my accounts...
